and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mark Miranda attended St. Thomas Aquinas Parochial School
from kindergarten through eighth grade and then Jesuit College Preparatory school where he
graduated in 1977. After high school, Mr. Miranda entered the University of Texas at
Austin, graduating in 1981. While attending the University of Texas, he was active
in many student service organizations, serving as President, Rush Chairman, and Treasurer
of Sigma Nu Fraternity and Treasurer and Vice President of the Silver Spurs Service
Organization. In 1981, Mr. Miranda was appointed Special Assistant to United States Senator Lloyd Bentsen. He was responsible for coordinating Senator Bentsen's Texas Field Operations, Constituent Relations, and Media Relations in Texas. After one year of employment with the United States Senate, Mr. Miranda moved to Senator Bentsen's Re-election Committee to become the Coordinator of Advance Work, Press Relations, and Fund Raising for the 1982 Senate Campaign. After Senator Bentsen's re-election in November 1982, Mr. Miranda was again appointed to the United States Senate Staff. In April 1983, Mr. Miranda joined the Real Estate firm of Pearcy/Christon as Development Partner in the retail division of that Company. As an owner, his direct area of responsibilities included the construction, management, leasing, financing, and sales of retail projects. He was directly responsible for 750,000 square feet of development. In July of 1991, Mr. Miranda joined forces with Timothy C. Kay to form the Miranda Kay Companies, a firm specializing in Real Estate Management and Investment. This firm was directly involved in the ownership and management of over 500,000 square feet of retail space in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In January of 1995, Mr. Miranda formed Miranda Realty Company, Inc. in order to consolidate his real estate holdings into an entity that solely concentrates on the acquisition and development of commercial real estate.
